Our Life

I thought I would write a bit of an update on us all. Sorry if there is lots of typo's I got a handful of sweetness nursing..

Friday was a toasty warm day, we spent the morning working hard on our school work. Chris and I decided we would school through the summer 3X a week. We have been read Charlotte's Web together and then doing a few questions out of the VP comprehension guide. When we first started my boys were not thrilled at all. They had seen the movie so they thought there was no point in reading the book. Well now that we are up to chapter six they are much happier now that the story has caught there attention. Natalie and Presley are also enjoying it, Also little miss Rachael takes this time to practise for church in sitting still.

Once Chris got home he announced to the kids that because they were such cool kids he wanted to get them a kool treat. This worked out great since Presley had been running a mild fever all day, so we all piled into the suburban to go get slurpees.

Saturday

On Saturday one of my really good friends whom I adore, had a ladies lunch for a few of us to celebrate sweet baby Jude. I took Natalie with me knowing she loves to come to girly things even though I did not see her the whole time we were there. I did really enjoy our visit to and from the lake. She really is becoming quiet the little lady and losing so much of the baby. Just thinking about our drive makes me smile.

Chris stayed home with the other four and did some yard work with them. They all had a great day and the mud all over them proved it.

It ended up being a pretty late night for us all. We had dinner with Chris's family and visited through out the evening as the kids all played.

Sunday

Today we stayed home from church, I was a little disappointed since our pastor has been doing a series on 1st Corinthians. My sister in law took Austin horse back riding and there trail ride was booked right for the middle of church.

Once they got back we all headed over to my mom's for a big BBQ. I just love summer nights and sitting in the backyard watching the children play in the pool and visiting with family.

Life is good.

Baby Love

I shall now have one mouth the more to fill, and two feet the more to shoe; more disturbed nights, more laborious days, and less leisure for visiting, reading, music, and drawing. Well! this is one side of the story, to be sure, but I look at the other. Here is a sweet, fragrant mouth to kiss; here are two more feet to make music with their pattering about my nursery. Here is a soul to train for God, and the body in which it dwells is worthy all it will cost, since it is the abode of a kingly tenant. I may see less of friends, but I have gained one dearer than them all, to whom, while I minister in Chist's name, I make a willing sacrifice of what little leisure for my own recreation my other darlings had left me. Yes, my precious baby, you are welcome to your mother's heart, welcome to her time, her strength, her health, her tenderest cares, to her life-long prayers! Oh, how rich I am, how truly, how wondrously blest!"

'receives her children one at a time, and gradually adjusts herself to gradually increasing burdens. But you take a whole houseful upon you at once, and I am sure it is too much for you.'"

There's a peaceful, quietness over the entire household, today. It's been raining for the past 2 days. Yesterday our dishwasher broke so I tried to make the best of it. I lite some yummy smelling candles and put on some soft music and stared out the window as I washed. The children sat at the dinning room table coloring as babies slept. It was raining so hard we listened to it hit the windows.
Not to much new is going on around here. There is a slow gentle rhythm to our day with lots of quiet breaks of resting and nursing a sweet babe. Reading to older ones during these breaks, my heart just feels so full. I fall into bed at night praising God for his loving kindness and ever so grateful for each blessing that has been given to me.

A homemade table cloth

Chris and I have always been so amazed at the difference of personalities, interests, talents, dislikes with our children. Home learning to us as always been just a part of daily life. A natural, full of love and joy way of life for us.Our days have a relaxed gentle flow to them. Although there is always something going on from morning until bedtime, I am so blessed with the sweetness and loving relationships that are growing in our little home. The Lord has been so faithful to us, as we ask him to direct us and show us how to raise our little army. I am thankful for the things he has shown us to embrace and what to let go of. I am thankful for the continued wisdom for each child and through each season. Homeschooling from the start has always been such a joy to me, I can’t imagine doing it any other way.

We decided to make a homemade table cloth for dinner time. I covered the big dinning room table with paper got out all the pencils and had the kids go at it. It was so neat to see what each one came up with.
