Almost a Wordless Post?

Chris took the older boys hunting on Saturday, as you can see
they shot a grouse. They were pretty thrilled.
This was Austin's 2nd time shooting with a shot gun, he loves it but doesn't love the kick back so much. He's thinking about taking the hunting course next year.

Just my happy boy waking up from the ride home from church.
Wear his Daddy's orange baby sweater.
It's 31 years old, and all my boys have wore it.

Natalie having some quiet time.

All of the children together.

The Heart of A Father

The Children have been praying for something for a long time. This thing is something Chris was not into at all. It was hard to hear the children pour their hearts out to the Lord..
After months of praying Chris came home with the desires of their hearts.....

What a good Daddy! He unselfishly gave up his will to sacrificially love his children. What an amazing example he is to our 6 children of what the Father heart of God IS.The look on the children's faces when he came home was priceless. I just wish I had my camera ready.
"The ability of God is beyond our prayers, beyond our largest prayers! I have been thinking of some of the petitions that have entered into my supplication innumerable times. What have I asked for? I have asked for a cupful, and the ocean remains! I have asked for a sunbeam, and the sun abides! My best asking falls immeasurably short of my Father's giving: it is beyond that we can ask." --J. H. Just Becasue he is 5 Months Today

I made these for piano/violin practise charts. With four in music now it was hard to keep track and also reward for being diligent for practise. So I made these up so for every 15 mins they get a sticker and after so many stickers a treat. I'm just not sure what the treat will be yet. This year we have Austin and Zachary in piano, Natalie plays violin and piano, and Presley just started this year on violin. And is doing extremely well. Even his teacher is blown away at how fast he is picking it up.
You can see Rachael has one too but hers is a potty chart. hehe...

And today Jude Elias is 5 months old! WOW where did these last few months go?

A Gift of the Spirit.

I can't believe a whole week has went by since I last wrote. Goodness it's been blessedly full-to-overflowing days. The two littlest one have not been their joyful selves.
But rather cranky and needing alot of cuddles. I was starting to wonder if a sickness was going to go threw the house but all is well today. While the little ones are in need of a mama the older ones are in need of me as well. I have been so very blessed with some very strong Christian women in my life, a very close friend and I have been discussing the gifts of the spirit. Our conversation challenged me deeply and reminded me that the Holy Spirit dwells within us.

During a moment of a crying baby in the wrap and an upset toddler at my feet, I stood at my kitchen sink and being to pray in my prayer language. I have not done this in so long, in that moment I needed the Holy Spirit to come and wash over me to refresh me.

As I prayed I could feel the Holy Spirit consume me and every hair on my arms raise. Oh how I long for THIS fellowship. It was the sweetest time and a priceless gift from my Lord.

Today was our official start to school. We had started back in August but today we did our full routine. I found I had to remind myself over and over to slow down. Enjoy them. Love them. Not to worry that we do it all. ~sigh~ Six years in (homeschooling) and I'm still learning.

Happy too you...

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Isaiah 54:13

Today was my husbands birthday, we enjoyed the day with family around our big dinning room table. It was wonderful I love times where you live for today and not worry what tomorrow may bring.
My heart is heavy tonight as I saw close friends get in a rather serious car accident. I was worried sick all evening not knowing how they were. When I drove up to the accident and saw our dear friends van, I just began to pray I honestly didn't know if they would have made it.
See, I have made my soul calm and quiet, like a child on its mother's breast; my soul is like a child on its mother's breast.Bible in Basic English
Jeremiah 27:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Autumn is coming you can feel the coolness in the air. I am sitting in bed under fluffy duvets and a warm little treasure beside me having my evening tea.

I'm so thankful for my home, my family, my life, where learning, growing, changing, is simply a natural part of everyday. It's Ongoing. Just as the season of summer is quickly changing to fall we to are changing. From the youngest to the oldest. Each and every person is unique and such an amazing blessing with something special to offer, just because of who they are.

I look forward to these last couple of months in 2009.

Old blog

I was just reading through some old blog posts this one is from Monday September 13th 2004 my first year homeschooling.
I just want to share because it made me smile.

"September 13th 2004

Boys are amazing. My little ones in particular. With having the privilege of raising the next generation of men, come alot of questions. What type of men does God want me to raise? I have normal rowdy balls of fire little boys. These two boys are the future men of God. They are going to be head of a household one day. Everyday I am more aware that I am molding them to become adults. the responsibility of this blows me away. I mean I hardly feel like an adult yest. LOL I enjoy every minute with my boys even on the days I am dead tired, I can hardly wait to see what type of men will come out of my home. One day they will come home with their families and children and remember all the time we spent together and remembering everything that Chris and I have passed down to them. WOW! There is nothing boring in this calling!! Homeschooling is going awesome and it is providing so many opportunities for the three of us to talk. I love it. it is definitely bringing up a lot of issues in my own heart. And seeing sin that I never knew was there. So I have been learning as well. I couldn't be happier with where my life is. Now I just need to make sure my children know how happy they make me. "

I am so happy I have this blog of my very first week homeschooling. I was so young 22 when I wrote this.

I am so thrilled to say I have 28 meals in my freezer ready to go! Three friends and I got together to have one big cook day. It was alot of fun!
We were so grateful to be able to use our large church kitchen, this made us move so much faster with having 2 ovens and a large fridge.

Our meals inclueded two of each.
  • Cantonese Chicken
  • Swiss Chicken Casserole
  • Thai Chicken
  • Teriyaki Chicken
  • Quebecois Chicken
  • Saucy Pot Roast
  • Hamburger Soup
  • Mighty Meatballs
  • Quick Beef Curry
  • Sloppy Joes
  • Pizza Casserole
  • Baked Ham with Musterd Glaze
  • Sweet and Sour Pork

While us mom's made meals the children did things like this.
Jumping into cushions
And building big forts together.

2 very full boxes full
