Tales from the farm

Today we spent the day at a friends farm. The children were in their glory of course. They all want to live on a farm and have a bunch of animals.

I often remind them to pray and ask God for it but also to be thankful for where we are at and that we need to "bloom where we are planted".

Since Natalie was 3 years old she has loved cows, in fact her 4Th birthday party was a cow theme. So she was a little disappointed to have missed a calf being born by mins but did get to watch the mother clean the baby all up.

Austin was thrilled as he is considering buying a horse and boarding it somewhere. For his birthday he got the cowboy hat and a lasso. I love how he will spend hours in the backyard practising over and over. And how when I peek out the kitchen window he is being ever o patient trying to teach the 4 year old how to do it. :)

Spring and other Random thoughts

Running: I started running again. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's hard to get motivated to get out there and do it yet when you are nearing the end of your run it's amazing and your thankful you did it.

Kitchen floors: this time of year makes my kitchen floor almost impossible to keep up on. Defiantly works long suffering and patience in me.

Doggie droppings: We have been paying the older two boys 25 cents a dropping and this as motivated them to keep the yard dropping free. Therefore no ones comes in the house with stinky shoes.

Sleep: We really haven't had a whole lot lately.

Sore tummies and ear infections: Baby has been having a hard time, back and forth to the doctor has now resulted in a referral to a ped. Natalie has been such a tropper she's been battling an earinfect for well over a month. Two different antibiotic's and looks like another trip to the doctor tomorow.

11 months: That's how old my baby treasure is now.

Birthdays: My first born boy is growing up fast and is now 11 years old. The years are slipping by. So much to teach and so little time...

Kittens: Natalie's cat had 4 little babies, there's something whimsical about kittens in your home.
That's what we have been up to, it's been a little more busy than normal. I hope to start blogging next week and little more regularly.

Patience

This week we are talking and learning about patience.

What is Patience? Well it's waiting without complaining.

We talked about what it means by "planting seed" in spiritual terms. And when we witness, we are planting seeds. We may not see the fruit, but we should continue to sow the Word and be patient for God to work his plan.

C.H. Spurgeon said, "If you are tempted to lose patience with your fellowmen, stop and think
how patient God has been with you."

It is easy finding reasons why other people should be patient.
George Eliot.

John and Charles Wesley were blessed with a patient mother. At one time her husband said, "I marvel at your patience! You have told that child the same thing twenty times!" Susanna Wesley looked fondly at the child and said, "Had I spoken the matter only nineteen times, I should have lost all my labour."

We will continue this week studying more of the science behind the seed. The older 4 will be drawing pictures of their plants at the stages they are at on index cards and a then later put them in order and will be glued down on to poster board in a circle
