Copy work.  This is the one thing about Charlotte Mason I will swear by. I have never really pushed my kids to write, or stressed that they didn't write perfect paragraphs by age X. One of the benefits of having 11 years under my belt in this homeschooling journey is I can really see what's important. Copy work is one of those things. Copy work gives good handwriting practise. It shows them good sentence structure, strong vocabulary, punctuation, and the rules of capitalization. Even grammar is taught by seeing and copying. Over the years I have found this to be less stressful on reluctant writers and they don't really realize just how much they are taking in. It's like the blender of vegetables in the spaghetti.

In this piece my grade 6 and grade four are reading about the Canadian Explorers. This is about the missionaries that came over.  These are more books we have been reading this week to tie in with our aboriginal studies.
