I don't know about you but I find it very hard to keep my children indoors when there is snow. They will spend hours outside sledding, building forts, snowball fights. They easily get their daily physical activity for the week in one day of play.

Frozen Bubbles:
This experiment works best in very cold temps, and that's just what we had this past week -20!
First we started by heating soapy water and blowing bubbles into the air. They would freeze into a beautiful ball. We also boiled water tossing it into the air which would instantly make snow.

 Molasses Snow Candy:
First we heated molasses and brown sugar on the stove until it reaches about 245 degrees F, We then ventured right into the backyard to pour the mixture onto the snow, where it almost freezes in about five minutes. Unfortunately everyone thought they were gross and realized we should have used maple syrup rather than the Laura Ingalls recipe.
