Home Life

This morning I woke up to the sun shining delightfully bright and clear, this morning. Makes my heart sing. It's so beautiful. Took my coffee out to the deck listening to the birds and loons. Mornings out here are amazing! I can' help but smile when I think about it.

Have you seen her, the ideal big sister? She is ever ready to kiss away the bumps and bruises of the little heads and heart, she likes to pop corn and make pancakes for little people to eat, she knows such wonderful stories to tell or read; she will pick up and put out of sight those evidences of childish neglect that might bring little people into trouble; she underestands and is a companion for every one of them. Yes, many homes have just such older daughters as that.

The girl who is learning day by day to be a good daughter at home and a good sister to the younger children is also learning day byday how to eventually be a good wife and a good mother. She is getting ready for one of the greatest works a woman can do. Making a good, true home for somebody is a truly beautiful profession.

He is Good

I thought while the baby naps and my little ones are busy in their blanket made fort I would write a little something.

I have been OVERWHELMED with the goodness of God these past two months. Amazed watching his plan unfold for us over and over, blessings one after another. My heart swells with gratitude and embarrassment that I have questioned His plan. He is so patient and loving with us.
I am very excited about our new little homestead tucked away in the quiet of a little country community. My children have been bubbling with excitement and have been counting down the days until we get the keys. I woke up this morning with Miss Rachael Joy moving my hair out of of my face " mommy 1 more sleep" here eyes as big a saucers.

For bible time this summer our family has decided to memorize Mathew chapter 18. Daily we read the whole chapter and repeat a few more verse over and over. I'm so thankful my children will have this tucked away in their hearts I think Jesus' instructions to us in this chapter will be very beneficial for them in life but also in our home. This is teaching them how to have peaceful conflict resolution without a grumbling and complaining attitude. We shared with with them Psalm's 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth... be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord" that as Christ followers our goal is to always speak to each other in a way that is pleasing to God. Although we are not perfect but this is the goal and we need to ask for forgiveness when we fail. Reading this same chapter everyday has made me more aware of my tone with my loved ones and caused me to talk a little softer and repent when I slip also stopping and praying in that moment for God's grace to help me stay soft.

I will be your God throughout your lifetime— until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. Isaiah 46:4

Divided

As most of my friends know we have chosen not to put our children into Sunday schools or children's church and now as we enter the youth group age we will also be saying "No thank-you". This video is amazing and explains our *why* very clearly. :)

Malachi 4:5-6 says, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

We desire to see families mended such that the hearts of fathers are turned to their children and the hearts of children are turned to their fathers. The only way that this will happen is through a turning of the hearts of men toward the Word of God. Jesus prayed that His followers would be sanctified through God’s truth, which is the Word of God (John 17:17). We are not sanctified through anything else, and this calls us to return to the Reformation doctrine of sola Scriptura (Scripture alone).

Purity

May Austin, Zachary, Presley and Jude have love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith Timothy 1:5).

May Austin, Zachary, Presley and Jude hope in God and thus purify himself (1 John 3:3).

May Austin, Zachary, Presley and Jude have religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unstained from the world (James 1:27).

May Austin, Zachary, Presley and Jude think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, may he think about these things (Philippians 4:8).

May Austin, Zachary, Presley and Jude be like the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).
