Today we made as many shades as we could with black and white. First I had them paint their white box and then their black. Next they mixed the middle tones. They began by putting white in their egg cartons and slowly adding drops of black until they create the fray that they feel should be in the middle.
After each box had a shade of gray they were each challenged to give each colour a name.
After we were done the work sheet I asked them to think of an object or scene that could be gray. They then mixed black and white to make various shade of gray, completing their pictures only using these colors.
