Baby Love

I shall now have one mouth the more to fill, and two feet the more to shoe; more disturbed nights, more laborious days, and less leisure for visiting, reading, music, and drawing. Well! this is one side of the story, to be sure, but I look at the other. Here is a sweet, fragrant mouth to kiss; here are two more feet to make music with their pattering about my nursery. Here is a soul to train for God, and the body in which it dwells is worthy all it will cost, since it is the abode of a kingly tenant. I may see less of friends, but I have gained one dearer than them all, to whom, while I minister in Chist's name, I make a willing sacrifice of what little leisure for my own recreation my other darlings had left me. Yes, my precious baby, you are welcome to your mother's heart, welcome to her time, her strength, her health, her tenderest cares, to her life-long prayers! Oh, how rich I am, how truly, how wondrously blest!"

'receives her children one at a time, and gradually adjusts herself to gradually increasing burdens. But you take a whole houseful upon you at once, and I am sure it is too much for you.'"

There's a peaceful, quietness over the entire household, today. It's been raining for the past 2 days. Yesterday our dishwasher broke so I tried to make the best of it. I lite some yummy smelling candles and put on some soft music and stared out the window as I washed. The children sat at the dinning room table coloring as babies slept. It was raining so hard we listened to it hit the windows.
Not to much new is going on around here. There is a slow gentle rhythm to our day with lots of quiet breaks of resting and nursing a sweet babe. Reading to older ones during these breaks, my heart just feels so full. I fall into bed at night praising God for his loving kindness and ever so grateful for each blessing that has been given to me.

What a blessing! That baby is SO adorable :) I love the one where he is wrapped in a blanket, you can see his sweet eyes so well.
