Fall Time

' How can one family affect anything?
One person battling away to put selfish interest aside,
to put other people before herself or himself, even for a fraction
of time, day by day, how could that help?
.... One family and the children of that family can do marvelous things
to affect the world.
or devastating things to destroy it'
Edith Schaffer

It's finally cool enough that we had to turn on the heat. We made into late October with doing enough baking the house warmed up. I have made 8 pies in the last 2 weeks. They sure don't last long around here. One of our Autumn family traditions is to go to the pumpkin patch. The children always love it. This year was rather cold so we didn't last longer than an hour. We came home and warmed up with a nice cupa hot tea. Oh how I am enjoying this school year, I think more than any other year. It's such a privilege to grow and learn right along side them. The coolness of the morning draws us together to snuggle on the sofa for our morning devotion, it's such a sweet precious time for me. If I had a pause button I would use it ever single day and take a deep breath of those moments. After our time together my older ones get busy doing the things they need to get done in the morning and I work along side my littler ones getting my morning chores done. All the while speaking to their hearts and drawing them closer to Jesus. What a huge work in the Lord we have leading little ones to Him.

No Time...

Life has been busy, no time to blog that's ok.
My littlest little treasure has needed me more.... and I like that.
My older ones have been needing me more too.... and I like that.
And my preschoolers act like they don't need me.... but really they do.

So much to tell and so little time. I have had some big things stiring away in my heart
that I would love to share. I love the places the Lord takes me too. I long for them.

Jesus more of YOU and less of ME!

My little lamb is two

My dear Rachael Joy,
What a truly wonderful year it has been watching your grow from baby to toddler. When you were born be prayed that you would have an abundance of the joy of the Lord in your life, which is why Joy is in your name. My prayer is that the joy of the Lord would would lead you and your amazing laugh would brighten peoples lives. We all have adored watching you grow this year into a little lady, not a day goes by that I don't ponder just how blessed I truly am. Everyday at 1:00 pm I look forward to laying in your bed with you as you drift off to sleep. The sweet smell of baby shampoo in your hair takes my breath away. I quietly whisper a prayer over you. Thank you Jesus for this child this gift that so easily we could have said no to. Thank-you for her.
Some things about Rachael

Since Rachael started eating food on her own, not a day has gone by where she hasn't left it out of her hair. Therefore the second she is done her dinner she is stripping off her clothes announcing "bath? bath?" In her little world food= bath time.
Ironically she hates to have her hair washed.
At 16 months Rachael started to hide, she quickly learned the game of hide and seek and so far to date is the best hider. She can be ever so quiet and stay in place for a long enough time Mommy starts to panic.
I have "art" work in a rainbow of colors from 2 feet down through out my home. She often has "tattoo's" on her body from her "art" work.
Rachael is a huge helper, after changing baby Jude she is right there to get the diaper into the pail. Or quick to get a lost sock back on a foot. Also if he is set down for any reason she is quick to tuck him in with a blanket.
She loves to dance! Turn the music on and her little body starts movin, it makes me smile every day.
She now can count to 10, and can point out the colors pink, blue and yellow.
When she is tired she sucks her index finger and thumb at the same time and with other hand rubs a mole on my arm.
Today we celibrated with family. There was 18 of us around the table celibrating this blessing in our lives. I made Lasanga, shake and bake chicken legs, ceacer salad and focaccia bread.
Her cake was my Gr. Grandma's recipe called a poke cake, just your basic white cake with jello inside.

Oxytocin

This sweet baby is Rachael Joy

I often get asked how I stay so relaxed, alot of times I laugh at the comment cause I never know how to answer such things.
I'm not a yeller and generally I go with the flow of things. But I really got thinking about it one day as I was driving alone "I wonder why I can stay so relaxed?"
One word popped into my head *Oxytocin*
For 10 and a half years I have had a steady flow of oxytoicn flowing through my body. Every time I sit down to nurse a baby and my milk lets down you almost going into a coma like state and your whole body relaxes. So if you think about 6 babies nursing that's alot of oxytocin. I think it molded my personality.
